On 12 February 2023, Dr Ganesh of G&L Surgical together with his two daughters wanted to go beyond their daily duties to give back to society.
Dr Ganesh and his daughters spent the day delivering lunch and dinner meals to over 30 homes in the Jurong, Choa Chu Kang, and Tech Whye neighbourhoods. This initiative was part of the Touch Community programme, aimed at supporting the less fortunate elderly who depend on meal delivery services for their daily meals.
Dr Ganesh, who finds fulfilment in improving his patients’ lives, believes in imparting strong values to his children through volunteer programmes. By doing so, he hopes to instil in them the importance of giving back to the community. This initiative benefits the community and demonstrates to his children the importance of empathy and compassion towards others.
The TOUCH Community is an organisation that aims to support vulnerable and frail elderly individuals and help them stay independent within the community. They encourage volunteers to distribute essentials and provide services to households in need, including home medical, housekeeping and transport services.
Dr Ganesh and his family hope to be able to continue improving the lives of our Singapore community and those in need.
